About Finesse Leisure
Finesse Leisure Partnership is the operating name for Welwyn Hatfield Leisure Ltd a not-for-profit organisation established in 2004 under the Industrial and Provident Society legislation, by Welwyn Hatfield Council to manage and develop facilities and services at four of their established health, fitness and recreation centres in Welwyn Hatfield.
Finesse Leisure manage a diverse mix of indoor and outdoor facilities that provide sport and leisure opportunities for all sections of the local community in Welwyn Hatfield. Our mission is to "provide quality sport, leisure and cultural facilities and activities, which are affordable and accessible, for an increasing number and range of users who will want to return time and again". This is all encompassed by the phrase "Caring for leisure".

Hatfield Leisure Centre
This facility has everything required by the sports and fitness enthusiast. The main hall provides facilities for a huge range of activities including badminton and 5-a-side football. There are 2 squash courts, an all-weather pitch for football, a dance studio for exercise classes and a fantastic 50 station Reflex gym with state of the art Technogym fitness equipment.
Hatfield Swim Centre
The perfect venue for achieving a healthier lifestyle, the Swim Centre is located in the centre of Hatfield and has a choice of 3 pools, the lovely 33-metre pool, a diving pool and a separate teaching pool. These are complimented by a fantastic new Reflex fitness gym and luxury spa, which were opened in 2005, plus an aerobics studio and Reflex Vibro Gym.
Panshanger Golf Complex
Built in 1975 Panshanger has a championship 18-hole course with stunning views over the Mimram Valley. The course is one of the UK’s most highly regarded municipal courses and has been cleverly designed to ensure that it provides a challenge to experienced golfers whilst encouraging beginners. There is a 9-hole pitch and putt course perfect for families to enjoy plus practice putting greens and squash courts.
Set in 126 acres of picturesque parkland, Stanborough is a unique outdoor site. It provides a huge opportunity for both formal and informal recreational interests with activities ranging from sailing, windsurfing and canoeing to angling, walking, children’s play and picnicking. The Watersports Centre is RYA and BCU approved and offers introductory sessions through to advanced teaching courses as well as a range of team building and fun activity days.
Welwyn Hatfield Council will retain a close partnership relationship through an involvement with the management board and the work undertaken by the socety towards wider objectives of the Council's strategic plans.
Over the next five years we will build Finesse Leisure Partnership so that it is recognised as the market leader in the provision of community based sports, leisure and cultural services in the area. We will operate under the banner of Finesse Leisure Partnership supported by sub-brands and subsidiary operations appropriate to the needs of a growing organisation and the customers we serve.
We will offer quality services at affordable prices that reflect value for money in our market place. To ensure that price does not become a barrier to participation we will implement targeted concession programmes that reflect the needs of the community we serve and our strategic priorities.
We will have a turnover of 5M pounds per annum and make a surplus for re-investment of 5%. We will recruit and retain teams of dedicated staff who will be managed, motivated and equitably rewarded for their efforts. We will operate under a consistent and transparent governance regime and will deliver passion, integrity, vision and action.
The primary purpose for everyone in the company will be to deliver exemplary standards of service and customer care. Finesse Leisure Partnership will attract and retain more customers and service them more effectively and at a reduced cost.
