POWERPLAY GOLF

PowerPlay Golf @ Panshanger Golf Complex
Played over 9 holes instead of the normal 18, PowerPlay Golf is an exciting, high-pressure form of the sport which gives golfers two flags to aim at on every green. They score extra points if they ‘PowerPlay’ to the Black Flag, which is in an extra-hard position – often close to hazards such as bunkers.
Golfers around the world have praised it for being a more attacking format of the classic game, in a faster timescale well suited to modern life.
Now you can get the PowerPlay experience at Panshanger!
Panshanger have trialed the format with Panshanger Golf Club Members and Facebook followers and we are now including PowerPlay in our programme throughout the winter months.
From November onwards, the course will be set up in the PowerPlay Format on Monday's from Midday. This will be at a cost of £8 per player for a standard green fee. £6.00 for all Finesse Card holders and Free to Course Members (Annual and Direct Debit)

How to play the game! - Basic Rules
- PowerPlay Golf is played using full handicaps and the "PowerPlay Points System" which is derived from the "Stableford" scoring system.
- Each green has 2 flags, White & Black, with the Black Flag generally in a harder position.
- Opting to play for the Black Flag means that you are taking a PowerPlay
- Using a PowerPlay at any time will earn you double points ONLY for a nett birdie or better.
- You must go for exactly 3 PowerPlays in your first 8 holes. You can go for a bonus fourth on the 9th Hole, but on this hole you score minus (-3) points for net bogey or worse.
- You must nominate your PowerPlay before your tee shot. A PowerPlay may not be withdrawn after a tee shot.
- On a score card draw a circle around the hole number to indicate a PowerPlay was taken.
