Bowls – King George V Playing Fields

The new bowls season is nearly upon us and Finesse Leisure would like to invite you to enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of King George V Bowls Pavilion and Greens. With 2 quality greens available for casual use, all members of the public are welcome to come and enjoy the season. The pavilion is home to several bowls clubs, who welcome new members whether they have experience or not. Come and enjoy the greens and the social atmosphere of King George from Monday 24th April 2017.

Bowls is an excellent alternative to indoor exercise and provides a number of health benefits:

  • Improved coordination and skill development
  • Enhanced mental wellbeing
  • Low risk physical activity, because it is low impact
  • Social contact, because it’s a great way to keep in touch with friends

The opening times for the facility are:

Monday – Friday 10.00am – dusk

Saturday & Sunday 10.00am – 6.00pm

Please note opening times may be weather dependant unless pre booked

The costs for the 2017 season are:

Bowls casual (roll up) adult: £1.80
Bowls casual (roll up) junior: Adult (Finesse Card)
Bowls season ticket: £96.00
Bowls season ticket (concessions over 60’s) Junior (5-15)
Locker fee £5.70
Bowls Hire £1.75

Please note season ticket costs include roll ups, matches, friendlies.

Season tickets will be available for sale on the first day of the season: Monday 24th April 2017, and throughout the season via the recreation attendant team. Please contact the recreation team on site or by calling the centre: 01707 323 970. Payments for season tickets can be made via cash or cheque (cheques made payable to Welwyn Hatfield Leisure Ltd.)

The season is due to end on Sunday 24th September 2017.
