RYA Sail Cruising Scheme
RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course
This course is designed for the complete beginner wishing to navigate coastal waters and it also provides a stepping-stone to the RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster courses. It is also an ideal course for "rusty skippers" or those with limited experience.

RYA Day Skipper/Competent Crew (Shorebased Module)
The RYA Day Skipper/Competent Crew course has been developed for sailors wishing to learn how to navigate. This 20-week course will teach you the basic theory needed for safe and enjoyable cruising.
Experience: None Time: 19:00 – 21:30 Duration: 20 weeks
Cost: £325.50 (includes chart packs)

RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster & Offshore (Shorebased Module)
This RYA Sail Cruising Scheme advanced course builds on previous knowledge of navigation, meteorology and pilotage, for the theoretical element of the RYA/MCA Award.
Experience: Day Skipper Award or substantial practical experience
Time: 19:00 – 21:30 Duration: 22 weeks

RYA Interactive
Some RYA Shorebased courses are now available online through the RYA Interactive eLearning site. Users can register with the RYA Interactive site and choose Stanborough Park as their provider. Once payment for the course has been received, we send out your chart pack and unique login to enable access to the online learning. You will be given support by telephone and/or email to help you through your course. Upon successful completion, you will received your certificate from the RYA.

RYA First Aid Course
This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of First Aid to sailors who are within 60 miles of a safe haven. The syllabus is based on the recommendations of Health and Safety Executive and the Department of Transport and covers all the basic principles including resuscitation, CPR and hypothermia. This course satisfies the requirements of the RYA and BCU for the Instructor’s First Aid qualification.

GMDSS / VHF Radio Operators Course
This course finishes with a short exam in the afternoon and is essential for sailors wishing to use a VHF radio.
