RYA Stage 4 Sailing
RYA Youth Stage 4 Sailing
This course teaches young sailors how to rig and launch their boats and the sailing techniques to sail in more challenging conditions. It includes recovery of man overboard, sailing backwards, returning to beach, jetty or mooring safely in any wind direction.
This course is undertaken in 2 person boats, such as RS Feva or RS Vision.
Ability After Course: Can set up the dinghy according to conditions, apply the 5 essentials of sailing, can sail in stronger winds and is ready to start working towards the Advanced Skills Modules. Stage 4 sailors can also hire double-handed boats from the centre outside of supervised session times at the Senior Instructor's discretion.
Experience: Stage 3 PLUS logged practice (since passing Stage 3)
Duration: 2 days Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
