Panshanger Golf Complex: Greenkeepers Schedule
Major Course Works - 14th Hole Bunker and Path
After various discussions with members of Panshanger Golf Club and comments made by players out on the course, regeneration work has been approved to start on the bunker and path on the 14th hole.
The objective is to reduce the raised ground area around the willow tree and the bunker which currently creates issues with drainage and effects the stability of the path leading towards the 15th tee. The severity of the slope/path will be reduced and a new bunker created.
The plan for the hole during this time is to move the flag to the far side of the green and to bring all tees forward to a previously used tee box on the right hand side of the hole. This will try and eliminate the possibility of the contractors being hit by a stray golf ball.
The start date for this work is due to be MONDAY 27th FEBRUARY and the estimated time for completion is 11th of March. The specifications for the work are as follows
SPECIFICATION
1.The works will involve stripping the existing turf to the working area measuring approximately 800 to 1,000m2. This is to be discarded on site.
2. The LHS approach bunker is to be reshaped in subsoil formation to the design of Mr J. Tucker (STRI) as per the previous bunker reconstruction phases. The adjacent moundwork and path to the LHS of the approach would also be lowered with the material used to raise the section of path towards the access road. This would reduce the grade of the path along this section.
3. To build new path We thank you for your patience while this essential work is taking place.
